DELUMICON
IA EXPLORATION AND MANIFESTATION OF INTERIORS 322
(3RD YEAR)
Delumicon has been designed with the idea of ‘DECONSTRUCTING DARKNESS’ THROUGH THE INTRODUCTION AND CONSTRUCTION OF LIGHT.’
Darkness/night is considered to be a dangerous time for the homeless. The fear of getting into a fight, being abused, or having your belongings stolen- is a common feeling amongst them.
The Delumicon Light has therefore been designed to combat the issue of both the feeling and actuality of danger since light simultaneously promotes a sense of security as well as acutally providing it.
The Delumicon Light features:
- A cylindrical cone shaped body to provide stability for everyday use.
- A metal chain attached to the base of the light, allowing for easy transportation and hanging ability.
- The light is characterised by its movable lid which allows the quality and direction of the light to change depending on its owners desires and requirements.
- It can also be used as a torch for wayfinding at night when there is not enough ambient or surrounding light.
